The Almari Trunk Show hosted by Deepika Reddy and Nivedita Shyam presents a fabulous collection of Indian, Indo-Western and Western wear for women on 26 and 27 February at Raintree.

Bangalore has a shortage of designer wear in the space of affordable luxury! TheyΒ have carefully handpicked 15 designers across the country to cater different tastes and suitable for a range of age groups. The type of clothes would be western and a lot of contemporary indian wear for women. We will be showcasing different types of silhouettes like draped skirts, wrap sarees, crop tops, capes, anarkalis etc.

The Clothes are by designers such as Samatvam, Archana Rao, Cinnamon Crest, Vineti Bolaki, Lola by Suman B, Urbane, Ank by Amrit Kaur, Pratyusha Bompally, Julia & Sita, 431-88, Anitha Reddy, Mishru who are from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Chennai. Accessories include earrings by Metaphor, clutches by Ozone and a mix of earrings and necklaces by Kichu.

About some of the designers:

ANK by Amrit Kaur- Tailored clothing with different surface textures, this innovative and experimental label creates cutting-edge, sculptural clothing.
431-88: 431-88 focuses on absolute clean cuts and detailing, the entire look is dominated by lines within the garment. Each garment is then further abstracted by reduction of traditional use of seams and darts. Looking back at the evolution of our clothes from the overly grand silhouettes of the past to the simpler cuts of today, the label also questions the possibility of distortion being where fashion goes next.

Archana Rao: The winner of the Vogue India fashion fund. Her aesthetic is minimalistic, contemporary and understated. She likes playing with the structure of the garment and experimenting with various proportions.

Kichu: KICHU is a narrative in contrast where inspiration is drawn from various ethnicities into a visually modern concept. Highly appreciative of traditional cultures as well as modern and urban societies and not bound by social fads, the brand aims to be ever-changing and always evolving.

With unusual pieces like the “Sharktooth earrings and the Bison head necklace”, proves that gold jewellery can have an identity beyond the traditional.

Urbane: Stands for elegance and sophistication, it has minimalism and urban-chic at its core. The collection includes cocktail attire, tailored basics and flirty embellished designs.
